Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, LLP and Dunn Investment Company will be the Title Sponsors of the Ozzie Newsome luncheon to benefit The Firehouse Shelter and its' housing programs. The event is on Friday, June 21st from 11:30 am – 1 pm at The Harbert Center.
BABC has a more than 20 year tradition of serving Birmingham's homeless population by offering free legal counsel as part of Project H.E.L.P., cooking meals at the shelter and by serving in leadership positions on the Board of Directors. According to Anne Yuengert, BABC partner and long time Firehouse Board Member, "the Firm is proud to support the Firehouse whether that means our lawyers and staff cook dinner each month, our lawyers offer pro bono legal aid, or we help ensure the success of this luncheon."
Danny Rodgers, retired President of Dunn Investment Company and current Firehouse Board Member added, "Dunn Investment Company is privileged to be a part of Ozzie Newsome's effort to advance the mission of the Firehouse Shelter. That is, placing the chronically homeless on a path of wholeness and independent living."
Firehouse Shelter Executive Director Steve Freeman replied: "We are so grateful to have BABC and Dunn Investment Services step up to serve as Title Sponsors at our first-ever summer benefit luncheon. All the money raised at the luncheon will go directly to our housing programs which provide stability to nearly 215 men staying at one of our facilities each night."
Ozzie Newsome, GM of the 2013 Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens and former University of Alabama and NFL football Hall of Famer, will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon benefiting The Firehouse Shelter.
Newsome will share his message of hope and inspiration highlighting his personal journey from a starring role with the Crimson Tide, to his Hall of Fame NFL career with the Cleveland Browns to eventually winning football's ultimate crown, a Super Bowl Championship as a professional executive. Steve Freeman will give a brief presentation on how the Shelter is making a difference in the lives of the homeless, and there will be a special testimony by one of Shelter's program alumni.
For nearly 30 years, The Firehouse Shelter has provided homeless men in the Birmingham area with a nurturing and caring environment while empowering each individual to reach their full potential.
Corporate sponsorship opportunities ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 are available. Individual tickets are $100.
