We will see mostly cloudy skies today with highs in the upper 80s this afternoon. A few isolated locations approaching 90 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms will be scattered in nature but everyone has a likely chance at seeing some activity throughout the day. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds remain possible with the stronger storms this afternoon. Minor flooding of streams and low lying areas may develop this afternoon if multiple rounds of heavy rainfall continue to affect the same areas along the Coosa River and Logan Martin Lake. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue through a good portion of the evening hours. Lows will be in the low 70s across the area. An approaching upper-level disturbance and weak area of surface low pressure will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to the Tennessee Valley on Tuesday as well. Gusty winds and frequent lightning will be possible with several rounds of heavy rainfall Tuesday. A weak cold front will push through the region on Tuesday limiting precipitation chances for the remainder of the week. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s/lower 90s.
