Denise Marie McGathey was arrested after authorities found drugs and drug paraphernalia in her home in Crossville.
DEKALB COUNTY, AL -
A 35-year-old woman was arrested on drug charges by DeKalb County authorities.
Denise Marie McGathey of Crossville was taken into custody after DeKalb County Sheriff's Office investigators and police officers were doing a follow-up on a recent burglary in Crossville. While searching the home for firearms and TVs stolen from a home in Crossville, investigators found drugs and drug paraphernalia, as well as a large assortment of knives and coins which were reported to be stolen, inside the residence.
McGathey was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges may be brought concerning the coins and the knives.

According to the press release, the case also involves suspects in Marshall County. Investigators from Marshall and DeKalb County are working on the case.
Sheriff Jimmy Harris said he believes the stolen items are being traded for drugs.
