Birmingham Police investigating man found shot in grocery store parking lot

BIRMINGHAM, AL -

The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the death of a man found shot in a Birmingham grocery store parking lot.

According to the BPD, officers responded around 11:40 p.m. yesterday to the the 2400 block of Pearson Ave. SW on the report of a person who had been shot. They found the victim, later identified as Lysander Perryman, 62, of Birmingham, lying in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Perryman was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

There are currently no arrests in this case. Anyone with any information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the BPD Homicide Unit at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
