Two suspects are in custody after trying to rob a Tuscaloosa home this morning.
According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 10:13 this morning to a burglary in progress in the 22000 block of Timberwood Drive.
The victim told the 911 operator the suspect broke into the residence, but left the scene when he realized the home was occupied. He provided a vehicle description and a tag number of the getaway vehicle.
Lakeview officers and Jefferson County deputies spotted the suspect vehicle near Kimbrell Cut-Off Road. They initiated a traffic stop near the intersection with Old Tuscaloosa Highway and took the suspects into custody.
Jason McCollister, 34, and Lorrie Patterson, 37, were transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail where they are now being held.
McCollister was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of burglar's tools, and second-degree burglary. He's being held pending $22,000 bond.
Patterson was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree burglary. She's being held pending $17,000 bond.
