The Gardendale Art's Council and the City of Gardendale are joining forces to present the Summer performance of "ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE."
"This is a must see performance that returns because of popular demand," said organizers in a news release. "So get your tickets early and bring your friends and family to enjoy a fun filled evening with ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE."
For more than a decade, productions have been successfully presented by the Gardendale Arts Council with the support of the Gardendale Mayor and City Council. "Mayor Othell Phillips and the City Council along with our Art event sponsors make it possible to provide quality performances for citizens in the City of Gardendale and throughout the Birmingham area," stated organizers. "Many enjoy a delicious meal at one of our local restaurants and then attend the show."
The awarding winning production, directed by Greg Maxwell, will be held July 12 and 13, 2013 at the new state of the art Gardendale High School Theater.
Performances start at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $15 through July 7 and $20 after July 7.
Tickets will be available at the Gardendale Civic Center, Gardendale Library or by mail at (205) 631-2421.
"The show is based on the true story of Patsy Cline's friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger. The show focuses on the fateful evening at Houston's Esquire Ballroom. Seger supplies a narrative while Cline floats in and out of the set singing tunes that made her famous--Anytime, Walkin' After Midnight, She's Got You, Sweet Dreams, and Crazy--to name a few.
The show combines humor, sadness and reality. It offers fans that remember Cline while she was alive a chance to look back, while giving new fans an idea of what seeing her was like and what she meant to her original fans."
