The Barons dropped their series opener to the Jackson Generals by a score of 11-3 Saturday night at Generals Park.
Starter Scott Snodgress (8-7, 4.97) allowed nine runs on 10 hits on the night but only four of the runs were earned as the Barons made three errors behind him in the field. The Generals would jump out to a 4-0 lead in the third and knocked Snodgress out of the game with the bases loaded in the fifth. His replacement, Josh Romanski, would allow a grand slam to Ji-Man Choi, giving the Generals a commanding 10-0 advantage they would not relinquish.
Generals starter Anthony Hernandez (5-3, 5.27) scattered seven hits while allowing just two runs over 6.0 IP in picking up the win.
The Barons had 10 hits on the night including two apiece by Marcus Semien, Keenyn Walker and Michael Earley.
With the loss, the Barons fell to 50-31 and 6-5 in the second half while Jackson improved to 33-42 and 4-5 in the second half.
