Police asking public for information on Wylam twins shot Friday night

Posted: Updated:
BIRMINGHAM, AL -

The home at 736 Attala Street in Wylam is quiet today after police say three men forced their way into the home and killed a set of twins Friday.

After the incident, neighbors living near where twin brothers were gunned down Friday night say they waited until the boys' bodies were removed to leave the scene.

"It was like a weight off our shoulders," neighbor Constance Rogers said. "We knew they were OK then, after they brought them out of that terrible accident."

Police say the incident at the home was no accident. Officials report three men broke into the home and fatally shot the 17-year-olds.

Jeremy and Jonathan Berry were pronounced dead on the scene Friday around midnight.

Police say the suspects pursued the mother and she subsequently crashed.

Police say there are no updates in the case except that they're still searching for suspects. They have not been able to get a lot of info from the family, so they need help from the community.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
