ETOWAH COUNTY, AL -

A Gadsden man has been charged with one count of capital murder for allegedly murdering his brother.

Shawn Derrick Williams, 37, has been a person of interest in the case since Friday. He's been held at the Etowah County Detention Center on a second-degree assault charge after attacking a deputy while being held for questioning in the case.

Williams' brother, Jamey Brent Williams, was found dead in his vehicle parked in the front yard of his home June 28

Investigators discovered the 34-year-old man had been shot twice - once through the head and once through the chest.

Witnesses said they heard gun shots at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Investigators received the forensic lab results from the evidence and arrested Shawn today.

Shawn is currently being held without bond.
