HOMEWOOD, AL -

The wet weather didn't slow down Alabama's longest running barbeque festival this July 4th.

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church celebrated its Fourth of July Festival with many activities, including 5,000 pounds of slow-cooked BBQ.

OLS has provided this July 4th celebration, since 1949.

The Knights of Columbus are making more than 1,600 plates including ribs, half-chicken pieces, hot dogs, smoked sausage, pork sandwiches and side dishes.

Besides the BBQ, there is a rummage sale, a raffle, and entertainment for families.

The festival was open to all from 10:00am – 3:00pm.
