Some folks held a protest in Birmingham today in a fight for their rights.
The Birmingham chapter of Restore the Fourth held the protest in Linn Park today, Independence Day.
Restore the Fourth is a national movement, wanting unconstitutional surveillance to end.
The Birmingham protest was one of many across the USA, and the demonstrations are meant to urge that all future government surveillance is constitutional, limited, and clearly defined.
The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
