Iron City Chef competition to test the culinary skills of four local chefs

BIRMINGHAM, AL -

Local chefs are about to be put to the test for a good cause.

Ted Strong, president of the Vestavia Hills Rotary Club, discusses the upcoming Iron City Chef competition.

Local chefs Jeremy Downey of Bistro V, Haller Magee of Satterfield's, Sean Butler of Studio B and James Pruitt of Todd English P.U.B. will put their culinary talent to the test, Iron Chef style. 

Proceeds of the event will benefit the local Rotary district's disaster relief fund, the Vestavia Hills debate and math teams, the Rotary International End Polio Now and Clean Water for the World initiatives, and the Jefferson State Community College Culinary Institute.

Sponsored by Alabama's 13, Western Supermarket and Jefferson State Community College, the competition is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 13 at the Culinary and Hospitality Institute at Jeff State. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased here.
