More than a dozen stores owned by Belle Foods are expected to close as part of the company's bankruptcy plan.
Six Food World locations in Alabama are expected to shut down by Aug. 3, including the ones in Hueytown and Homewood.
Richard Copeland says when he goes to Food World, everybody knows his name, even his nickname.
"Hey Eddie," Copeland said. "That's what they say. I came in Saturday, Sunday. Came in Monday night, Tuesday night and today. It's pretty much an everyday routine."
The plan calls for the company to sell off assets to try reconciling a $42 million debt.
Other Alabama store closings include locations in Gadsden, Florence, Decatur, and Mobile.
Belle Foods operates 57 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.
After closing the thirteen stores, that would leave the company with 44 operating stores.
