Weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will at various times close the northbound and southbound inside and outside lanes of US-31 in Vestavia to Homewood, in Jefferson County while crews perform asphalt paving.
Here's the information:
Monday, July 8 at 7 p.m. until Tuesday, July 9 at 6 a.m., at various times the northbound and southbound inside and outside lanes of US 31 from Shades Crest Road (milepost 269.5) in Vestavia to Hollywood Boulevard in Homewood (milepost 271.7) will be closed to perform guardrail installation at this location. The same procedure will be followed the following three nights.
"Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area," according to ALDOT."
Drivers are thanked for "their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama's roadways."
