The Alabama State Troopers have released information regarding the Fourth of July holiday travel period.
The AST reports four people were killed in crashes during the four-day holiday weekend.
Troopers investigated 434 traffic crashes, resulting in 154 injuries and 4 deaths.
The fatal crashes happened in Randolph, Lee, Chilton and Montgomery counties between 12:01am Thursday, July 4, 2013, and midnight, Sunday, July 7, 2013.
Seat belts were available in all of the deadly crashes, but only one of the people killed was using a seat belt.
Troopers also issued 2,126 speeding tickets, 607 seat belt/child restraint violations, and made 59 DUI arrests.
