To combat a summer supply shortage, UAB and the American Red Cross will be "Hunting for Donors" from now until July 18 to help replenish blood supply.
According to UAB, blood supply is low nationwide, due to people go on vacation and annual routines preventing easy blood donation.
The safari-themed "Hunting for Donors" blood drive will run today through July 13 at the UAB Hospital North Pavilion's second floor atrium, and at the UAB Highland Hospital July 16 through 18.
Donors can give blood up to six times per year, every eight weeks. The only thing needed is a photo ID.
Each blood donor will be entered for a chance to win an iPad or Kindle Fire HD.
