Missing father identified; Dive teams continue searching East Lake

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL -

An active search is underway at East Lake Park in Birmingham for a missing Jefferson County man.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says dive teams scoured East Lake on Monday for a man reported missing early Monday morning.

The Sheriff's Office identified the man today as Glenn Paul Florence, 61.

Officials say Florence's son reported seeing his father around 8:30 p.m. Sunday after 8:30 p.m.  The son told deputies that his father was going to East Lake Park to fish. 

Since the search started  on Monday afternoon, authorities have found the missing man's vehicle and his cell phone inside the truck at the park.

Authorities are treating this case as a missing persons case. Anyone with information about the disappearance of 61 year old Glenn Paul Florence is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 205-325-1450
