A Leeds Police officer suffered minor injuries, after a vehicle struck him Monday night.
The Leeds Police Department reports it happened about 11:00pm on Highway 78 near Leeds High School.
The officer was directing traffic around a stalled vehicle, when a vehicle sped by, forcing the officer to jump out of the way, and was knocked to the ground.
The suspect vehicle drove away from the scene, and officers later stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver.
The suspect was arrested for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving while License Revoked and an outstanding warrant from another Law Enforcement Agency.
The officer was treated and released by St Vincent's East Hospital with bumps, cuts, bruises and a sprained ankle.
The officer should be back at work within a week.
Names are being withheld while the investigation continues.
