BURGER BYTES: Ricky Mast Creates Braves Rhymes

Posted: Updated:

Ricky Mast is not your every day Braves fan.

He's not even from the deep south.  He lives in a small town in Virginia, where he says there are still a few Braves fans that have yet to be converted to Nationals fans.

But his love for the Bravos is stands strong through song.  Mast drops Braves related rhymes.

His first song debuted last season, "Go Yicketty", about Chipper Jones.

"That was around the time that Chipper Jones joined Twitter," Mast said.  "He started dropping all this baseball inside lingo, maybe its just Chipper lingo, Idon't know.  One word he was using in particular was yicketty.   That's Chipper speak for a home run."

Connect on Twitter: @kyle_burger and @RickyMast

That video has more than 35,000 views on YouTube.

"Put it out there, maybe a few of my Braves friends on Twitter would get a kick out of it.   Within a day, it was all over Twitter, gaining hundreds of followers, it was on MLB Network, Chipper Jones was being quoted talking about it."

Since then, he's honed his craft by creating five more stick puppet videos. As a result of these videos, the Braves invited him on the Braves Caravan this off-season with pitcher Kris Medlen.

"He came up to me, introduced himself, he knew who I was," Mast said.  "My newest video at that time was called Bravos Style.  He pulled out his phone and made Freddie Freeman and Tyler Pastornicky watch it while we're eating lunch.  I couldn't believe this is happening right now.  I thought my head was going to explode."

Mast said that he has another video in mind, but would only say it's about a Braves relief pitcher.  Let the speculation begin...
