Child dies after being locked in vehicle in Homewood; 91 degrees outside

HOMEWOOD, AL -

UPDATE: The Homewood Police Department reports the child has died, upon arrival at Children's hospital.

 


 

A child was sent to the hospital, after being locked in a vehicle during the heat of the day in Homewood.

The incident happened about 1:20pm CT on 19th Street South in Homewood, near the Hallman Hill development.

The Homewood Police Department reports a one-year old girl was reported to be inside the vehicle, which was parked on the street.

Medics arrived, and treated the girl, and transported the child to Children's of Alabama.

It's unknown how long the child was inside the vehicle.

The ambient temperature at the time of the incident was about 91 degrees.
