I know the defense lacked fundamentals for most of the season (really since Tuberville was fired). I know Chizik lost that team early in the season, but if Auburn wants to go bowling, it has to find solid quarterback play. The good news is, new head coach Gus Malzahn is one of the best coaches in America at developing quarterbacks.
It will be a four way battle for the starting job this fall. Both Kiehl Frazier and Jonathan Wallace have experience, but in this case, I'm not sure that's a good thing. Incoming JUCO transfer Nick Marshall and blue chipper Jeremy Johnson will push for the starting job. They have a solid defensive line and can be successful if new DC Ellis Johnson can teach them how to wrap-up.
Bottom line is this team is better than 3-9, and they should at least double last seasons win total.
