Day Ahead: Birmingham residents can voice thoughts with Mayor

BIRMINGHAM, AL -

Birmingham Mayor William bell is giving residents a chance to talk to him about what's going on in the city.  Mayor Bell will hold the first in a series of town hall meetings on Monday, July 22, 2013.

This first meeting will be held in the Roebuck area at the Hawkins Recreational Center at 5:30 p.m.

A full schedule of future meetings will be shared at tonight's meeting.

Later Monday morning, Governor Robert Bentley will be joined by first responders and utility providers to sign House Bill 373.  The legislation establishes guidelines for emergency workers to vote via absentee ballot if they're called away from their home areas immediately before an election.  The bill signing is scheduled for 10 a.m.  in Montgomery.

Monday afternoon at 1p.m.  Princeton Baptist Medical Center will hold a dedication ceremony for its new Chapel that was built as part of the hospital's  $57 million dollar expansion project.
