The Auburn Tigers held their first scrimmage in Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday morning, running 85 plays in a 90-minute practice session. The Tigers returned to the practice field Saturday evening at the Auburn Athletics Complex for a 90-minute workout in shells.
"We ran about 85 plays and went live in special teams," Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said after the morning scrimmage. "I think we learned a lot, and it was hot, which is a good thing. How we respond to good things and how we respond to adversity is a great learning tool.
"I think we're improving. We've been in evaluation mode, giving them all a chance, but our goal was to narrow things down at all positions after this scrimmage."
Sunday the Tigers will hold a mid-day workout before Auburn Fan Day presented by Golden Flake Snack Foods at Auburn Arena from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The event is free of charge.
