Birmingham Airport Authority addresses plane crash concerns during meeting
BIRMINGHAM, AL -
The first airport authority meeting since Wednesday's deadly crashed wrapped up around 1 p.m. Monday.
Board member Al Denson, in prepared remarks, extended condolences to the family of the two pilots who lost their lives. Denson also acknowledged community members' concerns after the crash and reiterated the Authority would reserve comment about the specifics of the crash until the National Transportation Safety Board has concluded its investigation.
Community member Robert Walker says residents are worried about safety after the crash, including the potential of another accident and health impacts because of the explosion and burned fuel.
The airport community meeting will held Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 6pm, at Shields Center, by the W.C. Patton Park in Birmingham, located at 3969 14th Avenue North.
We'll have more on the story tonight at 5 and 6 on Alabama's 13.
