Steady turnout but no wait to vote in Tuscaloosa

Voters at District 3 say there has been no wait to go in and cast their ballot and there are no lines. They say in total it took about five minutes to vote. The Tuscaloosa city clerk says voter turnout has been steady throughout the day.

By 3 p.m. there had been almost six thousand people cast their ballot which is 11 percent of the registered voters in Tuscaloosa according to the city clerk.

Out of the 16 total races in Tuscaloosa for city council and school board seven are uncontested. Six council members are running for re-election as well as Mayor Walt Maddox who is unopposed. Six school board races also contain incumbents.

Polls close in Tuscaloosa at seven and the city clerk says she anticipates steady turnout until then.
