Former Governor Don Siegelman has asked a federal appeals court to grant him a new trial on his 2006 bribery conviction.
The attorneys for the former Democratic Governor claim the case was tainted by the U.S. Attorney having ties to republicans. The filing also says the judge was wrong in sentencing Siegelman to 6 1/2years.
