BIRMINGHAM, AL -

Police say around 4:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disorderly person in the 1600 block of 19th Place SW in Birmingham.

Upon arrival, officers found the person and called for backup. After a scuffle, they arrested the subject, but one of the officers' patrol cars rolled backward and struck a pole before catching fire.

No one was inside the patrol car and no injuries were reported. The officer in the initial call appeared to be winded from the arrest and was checked out in an ambulance, but not transported.

Kalisha Whitman is on the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
