There are some big marquee games this week, but I'll be honest when I say it was hard to find 10 quality games. Still though, the top 3 games of the week are legit.
Here are the top ten games of week two:
10. Utah State at Air Force – 2:30 p.m. CBS Sports Network
Like I said, it was hard to find 10 quality games. The Aggies are coming off a loss to in-state rival Utah, but I still think they are a decent team. This is a big Mountain West game for both Utah State and Air Force.
9. Washington State at #25 USC – 9:30 p.m. Fox Sports One
Washington State look much improved last week against Auburn. USC was so-so against Hawaii, and a loss to the Cougars would be a major setback for Lane Kiffin.
8. West Virginia at #16 Oklahoma – 6:00 p.m. FOX
It's been a tough go for the Mountaineers since joining the Big12, and I think it will be more of the same on Saturday. Oklahoma got the easy win over La-Monroe, but I'm not sold on their quarterback yet.
7. Auburn vs. Arkansas State – 6:30 p.m. FOX Sports Net
The Tiger started the Gus Malzahn era off with a win. Now they have to face Gus Malzahn's former team Arkansas State. At the end of the day this is still a SEC vs. Sun Belt matchup, but there are still some good storylines.
6. Tennessee vs. Western Kentucky - 11:21 a.m. SEC Network
Can Bobby Petrino start his era off at Western Kentucky 2-0 versus SEC teams? He will get the chance on Saturday morning. Tennessee meanwhile, started the Butch Jones era with a 45-0 shutout.
5. #2 Oregon at Virginia – 2:30 p.m. ABC/ESPN2
Virginia returned 7 starters on defense, but I don't think they have the speed to keep up with the Ducks.
4. #15 Texas at BYU – 6:00 p.m. ESPN2
BYU lost a close one to Virginia last week, but I really like their defense. I think Texas wins, but BYU at home could make this a nasty low scoring game.
3. #12 Florida at Miami – 11 a.m. ESPN
This game really intrigues me. I think Florida pulls it off, but I really think Miami is a solid team. The game is being played at a sold-out Sun Life Stadium and Miami's Duke Johnson is a Heisman dark-horse. This isn't much of a rivalry anymore, but I think this one could be a classic.
2. #14 Notre Dame at #17 Michigan – 7:00 p.m. ESPN
To me the question is, can Notre Dame and Tommy Rees be a top tier team? I know Notre Dame made their way back into the spotlight last season, but this is a new team, and I'm not buying Irish stock just yet. The good think about Rees is that he does have experience, but it hasn't always been a good one. Michigan is a team that has been on the cusps the last couple of years, and a win over Notre Dame would be a big boost for their season.
1. #6 South Carolina at #11 Georgia – 3:30 p.m. ESPN
Georgia once again is playing in my game of the week, and that's a testament to a very hard early schedule. It doesn't get much easier for the Bulldogs with LSU rolling into Athens later this month. A couple of years ago Georgia lost to Boise State and South Carolina before going on a 10 game winning streak. But it's hard to think that the Bulldogs could loss this game and repeat their 2011 success.
South Carolina looked impressive in their week one victory over North Carolina. I'm still waiting to see All-World Jadeveon Clowney play a full game. Clowney has a tendency to take a few plays off and give less than %100.
This game important because the winner of this game is firmly in the drivers seat in the SEC east.
