A Birmingham company celebrated a milestone in its long history in the Magic City Thursday.
Induron Protective Coatings cut the ribbon on a $1.2 million expansion for its facility in north Birmingham.
Birmingham Mayor William Bell was in attendance, as well as Fred McCallum, chairman of the Birmingham Business Alliance and President of AT&T Alabama, and Davies Hood, President of Induron Coatings, LLC.
Induron purchased and renovated a 17,500 square-foot facility next to its current location.
The expansion will allow for a 50% increase in production square footage, and a 150% increase in production capacity.
The company plans to add 5 more employees in the next 18 months.
Induron was founded 66 years ago, and provides paints and coatings for commercial and industrial uses.
