The No. 1 Alabama football team moved back outdoors, practicing for two hours in full pads on Wednesday at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. The Crimson Tide continued preparations for its upcoming matchup on Saturday with No. 21 Ole Miss. The game will kick off at 5:30 p.m. CT in Bryant-Denny Stadium and will air live on ESPN.
This week, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc., the nation's largest and oldest youth football, cheer and dance organization, announced the Nick Saban, Sr. Scholarship Fund, honoring the father of the Tide's head football coach for his commitment to Pop Warner, and the emphasis he placed on academic achievement for athletes. It is the organization's first named scholarship.
"It is an immense honor for Pop Warner to dedicate its first-ever named scholarship fund to my father," said Nick Saban. "The Nick Saban, Sr. Scholarship Fund is a truly meaningful way to honor my father's commitment to the Pop Warner program and the great game of football, and the strong emphasis he placed on academic excellence."
