An effort to clean up Five Points South in Birmingham is underway Thursday.
Birmingham's City Action Partnership (CAP) is in that area this week showing what CAP can do to serve the community.
CAP officers offer services like safety escorts and stranded motorists assistance.
CAP also works to keep its patrol area clean, including a graffiti removal program.
The CAP Clean Team was in the alley between 10th Avenue South and 20th Street South painting over graffiti Thursday.
Workers were also preparing the clean wall for a chalk art mural.
"CAP is excited to be part of the fun and demonstration of revitalizing Five Points," says CAP executive director, Teresa Thorne.
