Huffman High students build Habitat home for single mom as part of coursework

CENTER POINT, AL -

A dozen of Huffman High School's Academy of Architecture and Construction students worked on a house today in Center Point for a single mother of two boys.

The Academy of Architecture and Construction partnered with Habitat for Humanity to provide a home for the Ramsay High School graduate and her family.

The students are not only giving back to their community but also gaining hands on experience that will benefit their futures.

"We are excited to be a part of such a great project. Students will get the opportunity to experience construction work first-hand and serve their community," said Dr. Spencer Horn, career academies coordinator, Birmingham City Schools.
