One bus driver has received a true gift of generosity.

The gift is three years old – maybe a little dusty – and packed with precious memories.

When the mom opened it, there were tears of appreciation as a mother of 6 received her own belongings as a gift.

She had not slept in her own bed in almost three years and racked up a $700 bill at a self-storage unit in Raleigh.

But Thursday, Latoya O'Neal's entire storage bill was forgiven. And she just recently moved into affordable housing after landing a new job as a bus driver for Wake County schools.

"It's a blessing. It was a huge surprise," she said of the debt being forgiven. "I haven't even told my kids. So they will be surprised when they get home today that we will have all of our stuff back."

O'Neal was homeless for a while. She lived in shelters with her children without her things.

"That was really, really tough," she said.

But the storage facility's owners learned of her struggles and decided to forgive the debt.

Martha Poindexter, the Storage Solutions co-owner, said, "Everyone needs a hand now and then, especially this time of year."

Not only did Storage Solutions forgive  the debt, All-American Relocation moving company packed her things and delivered them to her home – for free.

O'Neal and her children didn't have their beds, or toys or bikes. And mom _ "a picture fanatic" _ especially missed the baby pictures she had not seen in three years.

Asked what Christmas would be like this year, she said, "Awesome."
