Two Susan Moore High School teachers on leave in separate investigations involving students

BLOUNT COUNTY, AL - Two teachers at Susan Moore High School are on leave regarding separate incidents with students.

Blount County Schools Superintendent Jim Carr says a female teacher was placed on administrative leave, after being accused of sending inappropriate messages to a student.  Carr says the school was made aware of the incident on Thursday, Dec. 12.  On Wednesday, Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey told Alabama’s 13 the teacher had been accused of sending nude photos and text messages to a 15 year old.  Casey also said the school’s principal and superintendent knew about the claims for at least a week before notifying law enforcement officials about the situation, and the teacher was not placed on leave until Monday, Dec. 16.

In a separate case, Carr told Alabama’s 13 a high school coach at Susan Moore is also on administrative leave for a “classroom complaint” involving a student.  He said he was made aware of the incident on Thursday, Dec. 20.

When asked if either of the two had been charged, Carr would only say both incidents were “under investigation”.
