LaGrange police looking for hit and run driver

LaGrange police have released grainy images of a vehicle used in a December 16 hit and run with hope's the public will recognize the car and call officials.

Around 8:15 a et, officers responded to the area of Swift Street near Polk Street in reference to a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle, police say. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Isreal Clarke, who had been struck by the vehicle, and a witness who saw the accident. The investigation revealed that Clarke had been walking west bound on Swift Street when he was struck by a red, older model pickup truck that was also traveling west bound. The vehicle dragged Clarke under the vehicle for a short distance but did not stop, police say.

Clarke was flown to an Atlanta area hospital due to his injuries.

A business in the area did have surveillance video of the vehicle that struck Clarke and officers are asking anyone with additional information to contact he LaGrange Police Department Traffic Unit at 706-883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000, or text an anonymous tip to 274637, keyword “LAGRANGE”.
