BLOG: Top 10 Bowl Games

Posted: Updated:
We are right in the meat of the bowl season, but the best is yet to come.

10. (Russell Athletic Bowl) Miami vs. #18 Louisville – Dec 28th 5:45 p.m. ESPN

Last chance for Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to make a statement.

9. (Alamo Bowl) #10 Oregon vs. Texas– Dec. 30th 5:45 p.m. ESPN

The Longhorns say goodbye to Mack Brown, but can they stop the Ducks?

8. (Chick-Fil-a Bowl) #24 Duke vs. #21 Texas A&M – Dec. 31st 7:00 a.m. ESPN

More than likely the last time we will see Johnny Football in an A&M jersey.

7. (Fiesta Bowl) #15 UCF vs. #6 Baylor – Jan. 1st 7:30 p.m. ESPN

I really like this UCF team, but I think Baylor will have a little too much fire power.

6. (Capital One Bowl) #19 Wisconsin at #9 South Carolina – Jan. 1st 12:00 p.m. ABC

Both of these teams matchup well, and it’s the last time we will see Jadeveon Clowney with the Gamecocks.

5. (Cotton Bowl) #13 Oklahoma State vs. #8 Missouri – Jan. 3rd 6:30 p.m. FOX

Should be a high scoring shootout in this BIG12 flashback game.

4. (Sugar Bowl) #11 Oklahoma vs. #3 Alabama – Jan. 2nd 7:30 p.m. ESPN

Will Alabama show up for this game?

3. (Orange Bowl) #12 Clemson vs. #7 Ohio State – Jan. 3rd 7:30 p.m. ESPN

I think this is one of the more evenly matched games this bowl season.

2. (Rose Bowl) #5 Stanford vs. #4 Michigan State – Jan. 1st 4:00 p.m. ESPN

Two top 5 teams playing in the granddaddy of them all! Need I say more?

1. (BSC National Championship) #1 Florida State vs. #2 Auburn – Jan. 6th 7:30 p.m. ESPN

The title game that no one predicted, but everyone will enjoy. I think this game has potential to be one of the best of the BCS era.

Blog: Birmingham had bragging rights last night

Bragging rights and sports have always gone hand-in-hand with each other. Teams and players are always competing for the right to brag and pump their chest. Cities also enjoy showing off venues, always
Cities also enjoy showing off venues, always trying to one up their neighbor, its human nature. Last night as the Birmingham Barons beat the Mississippi Braves in front of a packed out ballpark the city had bragging rights.
