Coach Malzahn presented Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award

Posted: Updated:

Auburn football coach Gus Malzahn was presented the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award on Saturday night.

Malzahn has also won the AP and Home Depot Coach of the Year, as well as the SEC Coach of the Year.

“I got into the coaching profession in high school,” says Malzahn. Every situation I’ve been in, I’ve always had players to coach, always had talent and assistant coaches that were excellent. I’ve always had great administration. This situation at Auburn is no different. I’m a blessed individual. A lot of high school coaches could do what I’m doing here if given the opportunity.”

The Eddie Robinson Award is named for the late Grambling State head coach. Robinson is the all-time wins leader at the Division I level.
