BIRMINGHAM, AL - Richard Shahan arrived at the Jefferson County Jail Wednesday afternoon to face potential charges in his wife's murder.

He waived extradition Tuesday morning in Nashville, Tenn.

Shahan was arrested at the Nashville International Airport on New Year's Day as he tried to board a flight to Frankfurt, Germany.

Shahan has been a prime suspect in his wife Karen's murder last July.

She was found stabbed to death by police after she failed to show up for work.

Shahan was an associate pastor at First Baptist Church Birmingham.
