Plumber finds dead body under client's house while repairing pipes

Posted: Updated:
CENTER POINT, AL - An area plumber found more than broken pipes when he went to work under a home in Center Point

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's office, a plumber was going to repair broken pipes in a home in the 1600 block of 7th St. NW. In the process, he found the body of a 56-year-old deceased male sitting in a chair.

The victim was later identified as the homeowner's ex-husband, who had not been seen for several days and no longer lived in the house.

The resident said she was not aware of why he would be under her house.

The victim's cause of death is undetermined but foul play is not suspected. JCCO says it's possible that he died as a result of exposure to the elements during recent cold temperatures.
