Sexual abuse trial date set for former Tuscaloosa County official

TUSCALOOSA, AL - A judge has set the sexual abuse trial date for Tuscaloosa County's former Community Corrections Director.

Judge Hoyt Elliot has scheduled Dan Boisot's trial for September 8, 2014 at the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse.

Boisot faces 23 total criminal charges.

They include attempted sodomy, sodomy, sexual abuse and extortion.

Prosecutors claim he committed the crimes against female employees he managed at Tuscaloosa County's Community Correction program.

Boisot waived his arraignment and entered a not guilty plea through his attorney.

The Tuscaloosa District Attorney's Office and all Tuscaloosa judges decided to recuse themselves.

Special Prosecutor, and former Jefferson County District Attorney, David Barber his prosecuting Boisot.

Judge Hoyt Elliot is from Walker County.

Boisot moved from his McCalla home to Tennessee not long after the charges were filed him in 2011.
