Warming stations open in central Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is urging all citizens stranded on the roadways tonight as a result of the winter weather conditions to go to one of the following locations for safety and warmth. These facilities are serving as shelters or warming stations for the night. Stranded motorists are urged to go to the facility closest to their current location. Roadways in Jefferson County are extremely hazardous, and citizens are advised to seek the closest place of safety and warmth.
