Female Veteran Warriors' Summit to be held in Columbus

A half-day workshop to help female veteran warriors is scheduled for February 27, 2014.

The event to be held at the Columbus Library in the Auditorium on Macon Road, will cover such topics as counseling for PTSD, substance abuse, child development, employment opportunities, veterans' justice, military sexual trauma and mental health.

The morning program runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The morning session focuses on veterans support services for female veterans. The afternoon session will run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will focus on mental health, veterans' justice and health issues.

The event is sponsored by the South Atlantic Center for Veterans Education and Training, Inc. Organizers intend to make the summit an annual event. This would be the inaugural event.
