United Way offering FREE tax help NOW

BIRMINGHAM, AL - If you made less than $52,000 in 2013 you qualify for the free help.

The United Way of Central Alabama is offering three ways to file your taxes for free:

United Way's Tax Center

Make an appointment to have your taxes prepared at United Way by IRS trained volunteers. Tax preparation is available year round...

Free Self Preparation with a Coach

Come to one of five community locations and learn how to file your own taxes on-line with assistance from an IRS trained volunteer using H&R Block Software.

Free On-Line Filing with Help by Phone

Go to myfreetaxes.com/alabama from any computer and securely file state and federal taxes using H&R Block software. United Way provides toll-free, on-line assistance and telephone support at 1-855-MyTxHelp.

If you'd like to go in-person, call 2-1-1 or 205-458-8970 for an appointment.
