Posted: Updated:
BIRMINGHAM, AL - Officials from both UAB and Tennessee announced Thursday they will be playing their scheduled 2015 game in Nashville, Tenn. at LP Field.

The game was originally scheduled to to be held at Neyland Stadium, Tennessee's home field, in Knoxville, Tenn. Now, the C-USA/SEC face-off will take place at the home of the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 5, 2015.

Tennessee is one of four non-conference opponents scheduled for the Blazer's 2015 season. UAB will play host to Georgia State (Sept. 12) and South Alabama (Sept. 19) then visit Troy (Sept. 26) the following week.

The 2015 UAB-Tennessee contest will be the fifth meeting between the schools. The last time the teams played, the Volunteers beat the Blazers 32-39 in a hard-fought double overtime win in 2010.

"We are thrilled to be playing this game at such an exceptional NFL venue as LP Field," UAB Director of Athletics Brian Mackin said. "This will be a great experience for Blazer fans, who will be able to make the short trip to Nashville to watch our team play. In addition, I know our players will be excited and see it as a great opportunity to play a quality opponent in an elite NFL stadium."
