Shot fired at restaurant customer after complaint about food

Posted: Updated:
It's a convenient spot for Jatari Walker to eat.  Good Friends Chinese and Seafood Restaurant is only a few blocks from her house.  However, after her last experience she won't be placing any more orders there.

Walker said, “I was scared. I was just thinking about life, my baby, everything…my family…everything.”

She and some of her family members ordered food.  Then, they picked it up.

Walker said she bit into her egg roll and found a roach.

"I gagged. I threw up on the backseat,” she said.

She decided she would go back to the restaurant.  She wanted a refund.

“I placed the food on the counter and the egg roll rolled off,” Walker said.

She said she believes the roach fell out when the egg roll hit the floor.

Walker said the owner didn't believe her story, and he said a few choice words. Then, she said he told her to get out.  Walker said she had given back the food and didn't want to leave without getting her refund.  She was given the money, but as she was leaving she heard a sound.

Walker said, “He fired a shot at me, and I ran.”

Authorities said Chun Ching fired the shot above Walker’s head.  He's now charged with attempted murder.

Walker said she can't help but think what if the bullet would have hit her instead of the frame of the restaurants door.

“I wouldn't have been able to tell this story. Seriously, I wouldn't have been able to see my son and he is just three,” she said as she started to cry.

It’s a story she wishes she didn't have to tell, but she's thankful she's alive to do it.

Friday evening the restaurant was open for business.  Other patrons were in the restaurant when the incident happened.

Chung's bond was set at $100,000.
