Auburn signee Bessent arrested

Posted: Updated:

Just days after signing with the Auburn Tigers football program, 2014 recruit and defensive back Kalvaraz Bessent was arrested on Friday after a traffic stop in Florida.

The Nassau County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest to Alabama's 13 Sports.

Bessent was charged with two felonies and one misdemeanor relating to marijuana. There were three other occupants in the car. Four bags of marijuana were found in the car. Since no one took ownership of the marijuana, all four occupants were arrested and charged.

On a Twitter account believed to belong to Bessent (@kalvarexbessent), this was posted: "God knows the truth and he is going to stick with me through this if nobody else will!!"

Bessent is a Georgia native who is expected to play cornerback in college.

His arraignment will be held on February 27th.
