GADSDEN, AL - Glencoe Police say a Hokes Bluff woman is behind bars today facing felony charges after allegedly stealing a debit card and using it in Etowah County.

29 year old Sommer Nichole Gray was charged with one count of second-degree theft of property and three counts of fraudulent use of a credit/debit card.

According to police, the investigation into Gray began when someone made a report to Glencoe Police on February 7 that a debit card had been stolen. During the investigation, police say they learned the card was used at Walmart in Gadsden, a bank in Gadsden, and another bank in Hokes Bluff. Police say Gray took $300 from the victim’s account. Gray was identified from video surveillance during each transactions, authorities say.

She was taken to the Etowah County Detention Center with bonds of $10,000. Glencoe police say she was also charged at the jail with possession of a controlled substance after something that looked like methamphetamine was found on her during the booking process.
