Muscogee school board to discuss proposed high school schedule change

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Muscogee County School Superintendent David Lewis and the Board of Education is expected to discuss tonight Lewis' proposal to change high school class schedules in order to save money.

This proposal would change the current blocked scheduling with 7-period scheduling. With the school district facing a $10 million deficit, Lewis says this change could save the district $4 million and cut school personnel by 15%.

News 3 first learned of this proposal when Lewis mentioned during last months retreat.
