Large crowds at the Greater Raleigh National College Fair

RALEIGH, N.C. -

In almost every corner of the Raleigh Convention Center Tuesday, college representatives were selling their schools to a captive audience.

"It's a great experience. I'm having a lot of fun learning what's available to me," said Lauren Brooks, a first year student in high school from Raleigh. Brooks and her mother spent hours walking around, getting information on communication programs.

"I want to get a head start early, so I can know what I want to do and not be lost in the future," said Brooks.

She has her sights set on UNC.

"She is very ambitious and I'm proud of her," said Lauren Brooks' mother, Derisha.

Many here believe which college you go to could decide your future.

Josiah Pope from Clinton High School is a junior and said he's always thinking about his options.

Pope wants to go to N.C. State's engineering school and learned that he needed to take more math lessons.

More than 4,000 students visited the fair today and over 180 colleges had booths.
