BIRMINGHAM, AL - A Birmingham man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman found inside a plastic storage bin this weekend.

The body of Patricia McCain, 61, of Morris, was found Sunday afternoon stuffed inside a plastic storage box in the 1500 block of 15th Street south. Because of the condition of her body, the Birmingham Police Department had to use fingerprints to find the woman's identity.

Authorities are not sure how long McCain had been dead. The Jefferson County Coroner’s office is performing an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

Charles Jordan, 38, of Birmingham was charged with murder in McCain's death. Police say they believe Jordan and McCain "were acquaintances that engaged in heavy drug usage."

Jordan is being held in lieu of $60,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
